My main philosophical interests are philosophy of mind and philosophy of science. My published work mainly focuses on one of the intersections between these fields: the philosophy of psychiatry. Here I have broad interests including the nature of atypical mental phenomena, their diagnosis, and treatment. I also work in the philosophy of sports, particularly on philosophical reflections on physical culture and strength sports. Most recently I am beginning to work on projects in the philosophy of religion, where I am especially interested in cognitive features of faith and the idea of God’s mind. Non-philosophers interested in my work might find my research summaries on Kudos useful.

How Does The Psychiatrist Know? (2024)
How do psychiatrists arrive at their diagnostic conclusions about patients’ minds and what justifies this conclusion? In my book, I address these questions and make a proposal drawing on contemporary philosophical debates in model-based scientific reasoning, and discussions on expert reasoning in cognitive science and clinical psychiatric literature. Moreover, I discuss and criticize earlier proposals made by other philosophers of psychiatry over the last decades.
